Personalized Learning Path

Laurel Springs Academy for the Gifted and Talented was founded in 2008 by the accredited Laurel Springs School to provide a personalized learning path for gifted and talented students in grades 7-12.

Teacher/Student Personal Relationship

The Academy teachers are deeply committed to the success of each student and provide intensive support and encouragement throughout the year. The student's mentor-teacher, alongside the parent, ensures that the student is staying on track and serves as a liaison for all members of the Academy Learning Team. Personal relationships are at the core of the student's experience in the Academy.

Academic Opportunities

The Academy offers a wide variety of educational opportunities, which include Honors and AP courses as well as opportunities to conduct in-depth research projects in a subject of the student's choosing. Academy students often select subjects for their research projects that center around their specific gift or talent. This provides an exciting journey of deeper involvement and understanding of the student's artistic, musical, athletic or intellectual pursuits.

The Academy offers virtual classroom experiences and the advantage of working in intimate small groups so students can get to know each other and feel supported by their peers and teachers alike.
